The International Journal of Global Educational Inquiry (IJGEI) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal is committed to ensuring integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the publication process. All parties involved—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold these ethical standards.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors should present an accurate, objective, and comprehensive account of their research. Data should be represented honestly, and fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are entirely original. Any use of the work, ideas, or words of others must be appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submission

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal or publish substantially similar work in multiple publications.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Appropriate acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided. Authors should cite all publications that have significantly influenced their research.

Authorship of the Manuscript

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All eligible contributors should be listed as co-authors, and all co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of their research. All sources of research funding should also be acknowledged.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on scholarly merit, originality, significance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Fairness and Impartiality

Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic quality without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not disclose any information except to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, or the publisher when appropriate.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts for their own research without the explicit written consent of the authors. Editors should recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions and help authors improve the quality and clarity of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or are unable to complete the review within the requested timeframe should promptly notify the editor.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without authorization from the editor.

Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear, evidence-based comments and recommendations.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the submitted manuscript and previously published works.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Information obtained through peer review must remain confidential and must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers should decline assignments if conflicts of interest may affect their impartiality.

Publication Ethics

IJGEI maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, and unethical research practices. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated following the COPE Core Practices, and appropriate actions—including corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions—will be taken when necessary.

By submitting a manuscript to IJGEI, authors confirm that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, is not under consideration by another journal, and complies with internationally accepted standards of research and publication ethics.
